Mission, Vision, + Values

We envision a Mt. Baker Hub that is a healthy and sustainable community and a highly desirable area to live, work, and play. To achieve this, we orient all our work around five community values that are key to success.

We strive for a community that nourishes everyone. Everything we do works to exude abundance and welcome to everyone.

Being sustainable is about more than being green. We work for ecological protection and for resilience in the face of change.

With it’s rich history and culture, diversity in Mt. Baker is about more than numbers. We work to protect this legacy and grow opportunities.

Creating opportunities for all is integral to our future success. We focus on expanding affordable opportunities for small businesses.

We believe that being a mixed community is the key to success. We work to encourage a positive mix through advocacy and partnerships.

Generating New solutions for small businesses.

The Mt. Baker Hub Alliance goes beyond being your typical business association. As a community alliance, we work through partnership, offering our small business owners one-on-one advising, free marketing, and connections to resources.

Placemaking & Public Art

We believe in the power of art to transform and support a public space. We work with amazing artists who call Mt. Baker home to create murals and other forms of public art that reflect our community values. In partnership with Franklin High School, we also hire young artist activists to intern with our artists.

Our Goals

We believe that three goals bridge our programs and our community values. They are part of how we measure our success, and also how we focus our efforts. Our programs are closely connected, so they each program works to address these goals. We take a systems approach to our work and strive to always stay in community. These goals are big, so growing our community is vital to success.
